Terms of Service

Welcome to ProHire. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ProHire mobile application and website at prohire.club (collectively, the "Platform") operated by ProHire ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. About ProHire
ProHire is a marketplace that connects clients seeking home services with independent contractors. We provide the platform — we are
not a party to any agreement between clients and contractors.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use ProHire.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You may not create more than one account.
3. Account Types
3.1 Client
- Post jobs describing the work you need done.
- Receive bids from contractors.
- Accept bids and book contractors.
- Leave reviews after completed work.
- Message contractors through in-app messaging.
- Save favourite contractors for future reference.
- View an activity feed of job updates, bids, and bookings.
- Share and receive referral codes.
- Post volunteer or community jobs at no cost.
3.2 Contractor
- Create a professional profile with your skills, experience, and rates.
- Create and publish service packages for clients to browse.
- Browse and bid on available jobs.
- Communicate with clients through in-app messaging.
- Receive reviews and endorsements from other contractors.
- Purchase promotions (boosts) to increase job or profile visibility.
- View an earnings dashboard with performance analytics.
- Share and receive referral codes.
3.3 Role Switching
You may switch between Client and Contractor roles through the Platform's settings. Switching to Contractor requires completing a contractor profile.
4. User Conduct
You agree
not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings or contractor profiles.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications, licensing, or insurance.
- Use the Platform for any illegal purpose.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Send spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional content through messaging.
- Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid fees or reviews.
- Collect personal information of other users for purposes outside of the Platform.
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
- Interfere with the Platform's operation or attempt to gain unauthorized access.
- Abuse the referral program by creating fake accounts or self-referring.
- Post misleading endorsements of other contractors.
- Misuse the volunteer or community job feature for commercial purposes.
Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or termination.
5. Jobs, Bids, and Bookings
- Job postings are visible to all contractors on the platform.
- Bids are visible to the client who posted the job.
- Volunteer jobs are community-oriented postings that do not involve payment. Contractors who bid on volunteer jobs agree to perform the work at no charge.
- ProHire does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any work performed.
- ProHire does not verify contractor licensing, insurance, or qualifications. It is the client's responsibility to verify a contractor's credentials before hiring.
- ProHire is not a party to any contract between clients and contractors. All agreements regarding scope, pricing, timeline, and payment are solely between the client and contractor.
- Payment for services is arranged directly between the client and contractor. ProHire does not process service payments.
6. Smart Matching
ProHire may use an automated matching algorithm to suggest contractors for jobs based on factors including location, service categories, ratings, response time, and availability. Smart matching is provided as a convenience and does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation. You are not obligated to hire or bid on any suggested match.
7. Service Packages
Contractors may create and publish service packages describing bundled services at a set price. Service packages are informational listings only — actual terms, pricing, and scope of work are agreed upon directly between the client and contractor. ProHire does not guarantee the accuracy or availability of service packages.
8. Reviews, Ratings, and Endorsements
- Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience with the contractor.
- Reviews may not contain defamatory, abusive, or discriminatory language.
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms.
- Contractors may not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews.
- Contractors may endorse other contractors on the platform. Endorsements must be genuine and based on professional knowledge of the endorsed contractor's work.
- Fraudulent or misleading endorsements may result in account suspension.
9. In-App Purchases, Promotions, and Refund Policy
9.1 Purchases
- ProHire offers optional paid promotions ("boosts") for job postings, including Featured, Urgent, Top, and Highlighted boosts.
- On Android, purchases are processed through Google Play In-App Purchases and are subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.
- On the web platform, purchases are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- Promoted listings are displayed more prominently but are not guaranteed to result in bids or bookings.
9.2 Refund Policy
- All boost purchases are non-refundable. Boosts take effect immediately upon purchase and cannot be reversed.
- Since promotions provide immediate visibility benefits, refunds are not available once a boost has been applied to a job posting.
- If you experience a technical issue that prevented your boost from being applied correctly, contact us at prohireclub@gmail.com within 7 days of purchase. We will investigate and, at our sole discretion, either apply the boost correctly or issue a credit for future use.
- For purchases made through Google Play, you may also request a refund through Google Play's refund process, subject to Google's policies.
- For purchases made through Stripe on the web, refund requests should be directed to prohireclub@gmail.com.
10. ProHire+ Subscription
10.1 Subscription Plan and Pricing
ProHire offers an optional premium subscription tier called
ProHire+, available at
$9.99 CAD per month (or an equivalent amount in local currency where Google Play applies regional pricing conversion). Pricing is displayed in the applicable currency at the time of purchase.
10.2 Auto-Renewal
ProHire+ is an
auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged at the start of each billing period. The subscription will automatically renew at the end of each monthly period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
10.3 Billing and Cancellation — Android
On Android, billing is managed by
Google Play. You can cancel your ProHire+ subscription at any time through Google Play's subscription settings (Google Play Store > Account > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to ProHire+ features until that date.
10.4 Billing and Cancellation — Web
On the web platform, billing is managed by
Stripe. You can cancel your ProHire+ subscription at any time through the subscription management portal accessible within the Platform. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to ProHire+ features until that date.
10.5 ProHire+ Features
ProHire+ features include, but are not limited to:
- Higher AI generation limits (100 generations per day, compared to 3 per day on the free plan).
- Other features as added or updated from time to time.
ProHire reserves the right to modify, add, or remove ProHire+ features at any time with reasonable notice.
10.6 Downgrade on Cancellation or Expiry
Upon cancellation or expiry of a ProHire+ subscription, AI generation limits and any other feature entitlements will revert to the free tier immediately at the end of the billing period.
10.7 Subscription Refunds
Refunds for ProHire+ subscriptions are subject to the refund policies of
Google Play (for Android subscriptions) or
Stripe (for web subscriptions) respectively. ProHire does not independently issue subscription refunds outside of those platforms' policies. If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact the relevant billing platform directly or reach us at prohireclub@gmail.com.
10.8 EU Consumer Withdrawal Right
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from a digital content purchase within 14 days of the transaction, provided you have not yet consumed or used the digital content. By initiating a boost purchase or subscription and confirming the transaction, you acknowledge that the digital content is delivered immediately and you expressly consent to waive your 14-day withdrawal right upon delivery of the digital content, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m).
For subscription services, you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
11. Referral Programme
- ProHire may offer a referral programme that allows users to invite others to join the platform.
- Referral rewards (if any) are granted at ProHire's sole discretion and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
- You may not abuse the referral programme by creating multiple accounts, using automated tools, or engaging in any fraudulent activity.
- ProHire reserves the right to revoke referral rewards obtained through fraudulent means.
12. Favourites and Activity Feed
- You may save contractors as favourites for your personal convenience. Favourite lists are private and not visible to other users.
- The activity feed displays updates relevant to your account, including job activity, bid updates, and booking status changes. Activity feed data is retained while your account is active and deleted upon account deletion.
13. Deep Linking and Sharing
ProHire may generate shareable links to job postings, contractor profiles, or other content. These links may be shared outside the Platform. Content accessed through shared links is subject to the same Terms. ProHire is not responsible for how shared links are used or distributed by third parties.
14. AI-Generated Content
14.1 Overview
The Platform offers optional AI text generation features, including generation of job descriptions, contractor bios, message suggestions, and review responses. These features are powered by
Google's Gemini AI model, accessed via Firebase Cloud Functions.
14.2 No Warranty on AI Output
ProHire makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or fitness for any purpose of any AI-generated text. AI-generated content is produced by an automated system and may contain errors, omissions, or content that is not appropriate for your specific circumstances.
14.3 User Responsibility
Users are
solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to publish any AI-generated content. By publishing AI-generated content on the Platform, you represent that you have reviewed it and accept responsibility for it as if it were your own original content.
14.4 Not Professional Advice
AI-generated content does
not constitute professional, legal, financial, or any other form of regulated advice. You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional consultation.
14.5 Limitation of Liability for AI Content
ProHire is
not liable for any consequences arising from the use, publication, or reliance upon AI-generated content, including but not limited to reputational harm, contractual disputes, regulatory non-compliance, or financial loss.
15. Automated Content Moderation
15.1 Review Moderation
Reviews submitted on the Platform are subject to
automated moderation using AI-assisted tools to detect content that violates our community guidelines and policies. Reviews flagged by automated moderation may be withheld from publication pending further assessment or removed without prior notice.
15.2 Bid Quality Scoring
Bids submitted by contractors are subject to
automated quality scoring, which evaluates factors such as relevance, completeness, and compliance with platform standards. Quality scores may affect the ranking or prominence of bids in client-facing views.
15.3 Smart Matching Algorithm
Smart matching results are determined by an
automated algorithm based on factors including location, service categories, ratings, and availability. Smart matching results do not represent a personal endorsement of any contractor by ProHire.
15.4 Requesting Manual Review
Users who believe that automated moderation has incorrectly affected their content — including removed reviews or downranked bids — may contact us at
prohireclub@gmail.com to request a manual review. We will endeavour to respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe, though we cannot guarantee reinstatement of any content.
16. Intellectual Property
- The ProHire Platform, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by ProHire and protected by intellectual property laws.
- You retain ownership of content you post (job descriptions, profile information, photos, reviews). By posting content, you grant ProHire a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that content within the Platform for the purpose of providing the service.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform.
17. Disclaimers
- ProHire is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any contractor's work, qualifications, or conduct.
- We are not responsible for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from interactions between users.
- Smart matching suggestions and pricing information displayed on the Platform are informational only and do not constitute professional advice.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProHire shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to:
- Property damage resulting from contractor work.
- Any disputes between clients and contractors.
- Failed or disputed in-app purchases.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to ProHire (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ProHire harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Platform.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party rights.
- Any content you post on the Platform.
20. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your profile, job postings, bids, bookings, messages, favourites, activity feed data, endorsements, service packages, referral data, and boost purchase history will be removed.
- Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any purchases made prior to termination.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
22. International Users
The Platform is available to users in Canada and Europe. If you access the Platform from outside Canada, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Local consumer protection laws may apply in addition to these Terms.
23. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario.
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the consumer laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable mandatory EU consumer protection legislation.
24. Dispute Resolution
24.1 General
We encourage you to contact us first at prohireclub@gmail.com to resolve any disputes informally.
24.2 EU Online Dispute Resolution
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to resolve disputes related to the Platform. The ODR platform is available at:

This provision is made in accordance with EU Regulation 524/2013.
25. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
